DOES IT BOTHER YOU WHEN SOMEONE FROM YOUR RACE DATES ANOTHER RACE?

It's good that you recognize that your feeling is irrational. I think that you should get to know your cousin's boyfriend a little bit better. Yeah, there are some white guys who have a kind of fetish for Asian women, but I don't think that most white guys who date Asian women are like that. If you get to know him and realize he's a nice guy who likes your cousin because of who she is and not because of her race, you'll eventually feel better.

No. Actually, it bothers me when I get dirty looks for being married to a white man. I am asian, but people on Yahoo Answers will I assume I did it for his money or a green card, but I am a U.S. Citizens and I make 3x what he makes..So, unlike a lot of married people, I did it for the love. I've never met somebody who cared about my feelings so much and tried his best to make me happy. People should get with the new millenium.

The fact of the stereotypes origin may be true but that doesn't mean that everyone who likes asian women are pervs. I think asian women are very beautiful… they delicate and sweet…. But to consider everyone who likes asian women pervs then you would have to assume that they know the origin and are basing their opionions off of that. Who knows… maybe subconciously people really do think that way of asian women but as long as it's not s concious thought of "this is why I'm getting with her" then you can't blame him. There are pervs in every aspect of life… some who only like blondes… some who only like asians… you have to use your best judgement and if your cousin is happy with him then you have to trust her judgement.
Think about it… really you're mad and stereotyping him because you THINK he's stereotyping your cousin. Judge each person by who they are… not off of paranoia. I Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

The key to solving your weighted conundrum is within your own account wherein you say the words "long ago".
We no longer relate people who do not have white skin as being slaves or lower-class, and a great deal of the world's population these days is coming towards social equity and no longer discriminating on the basis of such superficial manners.
The most important FACT to realise is that all humans are not just physical beings that should be judged on that basis, but in fact, are much more, and should be judged on the person they are, rather than superficialities.
Theoretically, love between girl-friend and boy-friend should be emotional and based first and foremost on WHO a person is.
This is not always the case, but through history we can see it is eventuating that this occurs more often.
Thus, to overcome you mortal coil, you may take comfort into the fact that:
A. Just because people did something "long ago", doesn't mean it will reoccur, or applies to present times, and it is fairly plain to see that we no longer treat people of other races as slaves in most parts of the world.
B. Relationships are veering towards being more metaphysical than purely physical.
