the question is, why should there be a set number of dates to qualify for sex. Is sex a job with different advancement opportunities at certain intervals, or is it something intimate that is shared between people that care enough about each other to get naked.

Sex is fun, but if its treated like a daily routine, it kinda loses its exciting qualities.

The soonest I have ever had sex with a guy was after dating him for 4months, talking for 1. I've only been with two so I dunno. Just don't do it too soon because you might regret it later on. But if you feel close to him, then go ahead..i guess.

If you just met him, in 4 dates you will still not know him. Wait as long as possible. Maybe even until you know him!

I think you should know the guy for at least a month. It depends if you want it to be a proper relationship or just a fling.

I'll stick with a month. How many exact dates isn't important.
and as long as he makes you feel comfortable enough to do it.

ive gone as little as a few hrs after meetin a guy all the way 2 a few weeks…it all depends…i dont think there needs 2 be a set time…if u both want it 2 happen then let it happen…dont stop on the 3rd date just cuz u wanna wait for the 4th…thats just silly

Some wait till marriage (most likely my case), but many don't. And it's not merely based on number of dates or how many months of going out. It's more of a how you guys are pacing your dates. I've had a boyfriend who i went out with a week before kissing, but i've had boyfriends who didn't even kiss me until after a month or so of going out. People are different. Too soon is when both aren't all that into each other yet they're having sex for the whole 'sex' thing- not to show love. It's a lot better if you really love someone and they do you and you guys have a mutual relationship and thought on the whole sex thing. I mean you don't want to be getting ready to have sex when you're boyfriend can't even kiss you without thinking twice about it right? Meet each other's pace.
