IM HSV1 NEGATIVE PARTNER POSITIVE?

Recently got myself tested for HSV1 (oral herpes, well known as coldsores) and it came behind negative. My partner of multiform months however has the pathogen and gets outbreaks from time to time. Im only extraordinary about those who have been disastrous but dating someone positive, what precautions do you take to equivocate catching it?. As i assimilate it, this can be widespread as genital herpes by verbal sex, and is nastier if first infection is as an adult. Obviously no kissing etc when a coldsore is present, but when is the infection possibility low again? when the scab drops off?. Cheers

You will be infected sooner or later if you have intimate relations with your positive partner.

I'm sure there are precautions you can take, without having to disown your partner. in cali we have these stupid "i have herpes, but she doesnt" ads for valtrex or something on tv, they're really lame because they show people canoing, and hang gliding and horseback riding (idk if a pun is intended? lol) so it is possible to remain that way. maybe check up some medical websites, i go to webmd.com to look up stuff, or about.com, maybe even talk to a healthcare professional!

There are precautions you can take like NEVER kissing, giving oral sex, or share things like utensils, drinks, chap stick cigarettes while your partner has a cold sore. Oral herpes absolutely can be passed to the genitals during oral sex, if there is an out break or a healing cold sore (I contracted genital herpes this way so it's possible).
If they had a blood test done it could come back negative. If your partner only had oral herpes for a short period of time, then there may not be enough antibodies in their blood to give them a positive result.
Wait until the scab falls off and even a few days more after that to make sure it's completely healed and so you won't be shedding the virus. If your partner loves you then they should be patient and wait until the sore goes away.
I have cold sores too as does 80-90 percent of the world's population.
